Redesigning Administrative Framework (The Gurukul)

Brief

The project aimed to help systematize the institute’s existing structure of governance into one standard administrative framework .

Introduction

After fifteen notable years of existence, one of the top schools in Ghaziabad observed a need for innovative changes in their administrative framework. Hum Log was asked to identify the flaws in existing processes and suggest alternate ways to make the operations of different departments smoother and more efficient. We conducted a management design exercise to highlight procedural or systemic issues within each department.

Methodology

As part of this exercise, about twenty employees were interviewed to assess their skills, backgrounds, roles and responsibilities within their respective departments through a pre-designed tool. Simultaneously, we conducted co-design exercises to identify and expedite various departmental functions and processes. Our final deliverables were in the form of workshops for the employees, each with the room to incorporate suggestions in the form of solution diagrams and study reports. The following departments were actively involved – IT, Library, PR, Security, Estate Management, HR, Admissions, Accounts, Transport.
