Brief
How might we design a toolkit to enable local governance during a pandemic?
Introduction
Through this project we explored design for governance that addresses intersectional problems that are often overlooked by bureaucracy, and focus on effective implementation of guidelines, rules and regulations framed to solve some of the overarching public health-related problems within informal settlements.
The intent of the outcome of this work is also to strengthen the local administrator as an important stakeholder in crisis response through community participatory methods that they can use to include the community and their lived experiences and needs in effective decision-making.
Deliverable
Crisis Response Kit for Local Governance
In view of the aforementioned learning, we decided to document our process as a template for a local administrator to follow, along with allied templates that would aid in better decision-making and documentation on the ground during a crisis such as the present one we are collectively experiencing.
